Derivative Classifier / Historical Records Reviewer Level II           Location: Rockville, MD _ Hybrid

The Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR), Division of Security Operations (DSO), Information Security Branch (ISB), has a critical mission in the review and declassification of historical classified documents.

The Derivative Classifier / Historical Records Reviewer plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with Executive Order 13526 and Department of Energy (DOE) classification policies, contributing to national transparency and historical accountability. Candidates will work with sensitive materials requiring Top Secret clearance and must demonstrate expertise in classification protocols, analytical review, and secure document handling.

The Derivative Classifier / Historical Records Reviewer Will:

  • Review classified documents for declassification eligibility.
  • Apply classification guides and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors.

The Derivative Classifier / Historical Records Reviewer Will Have:

  • An Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with Executive Order 13526.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • DOE Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewers (HRRDR) Certification.
