PROGRAM MANAGER (FACILITIES PROJECT MANAGER) (GS-14) - CBP USBP OFFICE OF FACILITIES AND ASSETS MANAGEMENT

Job Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This opportunity is ONLY open to DoW SkillBridge candidates on active duty who are AT LEAST 11 MONTHS AWAY from separation and who can intern with CBP during their final 180, 120, or 90 days on active duty. DoW SkillBridge interns receive their active-duty salary during their internship participation.

 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning, organizing, coordinating, managing, and evaluating the activities of the overall construction process to support CBP’s mission to secure the border and ensure safe and lawful trade and travel. 
  • Managing complex facility construction projects, often cutting across organizational lines, by providing administrative expertise throughout the life-cycle of the project. 
  • Formulating analysis to provide advice to help executive leadership make budgetary and scoping decisions. 
  • Identifying, communicating, and tracking achievement of project goals and objectives. Proactively identifies potential barriers to the achievement of goals and implements corrective actions.
  • Working as a liaison with internal and external senior leaders in other Federal agencies, including ICE, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), top-level managers in DHS/CBP/OFAM, GS-15 and Senior Executive Services (SES) level executives, port directors, and GSA representatives, etc., assuring, directing, and performing the steps necessary to create project plans, such as scope, schedule, budget, risks, and communication strategies, for execution of building design and construction within established budgets and time frames.
