SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) support to a mission critical program in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will directly support the National Reconnaissance Office's (NRO) Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED)-the organization responsible for architecting, acquiring, and sustaining the nation's most advanced space and ground systems across their full lifecycle. This position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Key Responsibilities to include:
  • Provide technical expertise on MBSE tools, processes, and modeling standards, guiding stakeholders in the adoption and execution of model based engineering.
  • Develop and maintain MBSE models that support system engineering activities, including architecture definition, requirements traceability, and interface management.
  • Ensure all interfaces are accurately captured in MBSE compatible formats and kept current as system designs evolve.
  • Verify interface definitions through modeling and simulation, ensuring alignment with system requirements and mission objectives.
  • Maintain and update MBSE models to reflect changes in system architecture, design decisions, and interface updates.
  • Conduct regular model reviews and audits to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with enterprise modeling standards.
  • Collaborate closely with system engineers, software developers, and mission stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Document interface definitions, verification results, and model updates with precision and clarity to support technical decision making and program reviews.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Poly.
  • Proficiency in MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of SysML (Systems Modeling Language) and UML (Unified Modeling Language).
  • Proven experience in defining, verifying, and maintaining system interfaces using MBSE methodologies.
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation techniques for interface verification.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) missions, stakeholders, and programs within classified environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and concise documentation and reporting.
