FINANCIAL PROGRAM SPECIALIST (GS-13) - CBP USBP OFFICE OF FACILITIES AND ASSETS MANAGEMENT

Job Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This opportunity is ONLY open to DoW SkillBridge candidates on active duty who are AT LEAST 11 MONTHS AWAY from separation and who can intern with CBP during their final 180, 120, or 90 days on active duty. DoW SkillBridge interns receive their active-duty salary during their internship participation.

 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewing financial obligations and expenditures, collaborating with internal and external customers to ensure budget funds are allocated and used appropriately and in alignment with broader agency objectives, ensuring compliance assurance regarding budget and financial reporting requirements, and providing administrative financial support services to management relating to the application of planning systems and management programs to execute and fulfill mission requirements. 
  • Interpreting, assessing, and applying Executive Orders, Office of Management and Budget guidelines and directives, regulations, management policies, operating practices, and other guidance to functional processes ensuring procedures and automated financial (i.e., SAP Software Solutions) systems comply. 
  • Tracking, forecasting, and preparing multi-year spend plans to ensure fiscal viability of the program. 
  • Presenting to leadership and OFAM Budget findings of analysis by preparing financial reports for management in a timely manner through analyzing trends in the use of funds and recommending adjustment of program spending, as required.
