The Contracts Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to our  Market leaders , driving business outcomes through proactive contracts leadership. This is not a transactional contracts role — the Contracts Business Partner is a forward-leaning enabler who partners directly with Market leadership, Capture, Business Development, and Program teams to shape pursuits, manage risk, and accelerate growth. The ideal candidate brings deep contracts expertise, sound business judgment, and the relationship skills to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as the primary contracts strategic advisor to market leadership, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and solutions across the full business lifecycle — from pipeline and capture through performance and closeout.
  • Partner with Capture Managers and Business Development to review RFPs, shape competitive strategies, and provide contracts guidance that strengthens win probability.
  • Lead and negotiate prime contracts, task and delivery orders, modifications, teaming agreements, and NDAs with a focus on protecting company interests while enabling program success.
  • Provide oversight and evaluation of major proposals, monitor contract terms and conditions, and identify risks with associated mitigations in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Act as the market's advocate and voice within the Contracts organization, ensuring responsiveness, alignment, and consistent execution across the portfolio.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers — including government contracting officers, prime contractors, and subcontractors — serving as a reliable point of contact and problem-solver.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Control, Accounting, and Program leadership to monitor contract performance and ensure conformance to requirements and deliverable obligations.
  • Maintain contract systems, files, and records ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS, company policy, and government requirements.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business or a related field with a minimum of 15 years of federal contracting experience; additional relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a business partner — not just an administrator — with a track record of influencing outcomes and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of all contract types and deep expertise in FAR/DFARS; experience with GSA, OASIS, Alliant, and GovCon commercial vehicles preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex contract issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-contracts audiences.
  • Self-starter with strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a dynamic portfolio with minimal supervision.
  • Previous team lead or mentorship experience a plus.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred.
