Description
SAIC is seeking a Collection Orchestration Mission Engineer to support Landmark AOS, SAIC's Prime SETA program supporting the NRO's Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED) in Chantilly, VA. GED leads enterprise-level acquisition, integration, and modernization efforts that define how multi-INT collection is orchestrated across the mission.
In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor guiding the design, evaluation, and delivery of next-generation tools that automate and optimize collection management. You will work directly with government leaders and development contractors to shape cloud-forward, automation-driven capabilities that enhance mission responsiveness and operational effectiveness across the full system lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer advanced collection-orchestration applications, performing system trades, interface analysis, and lifecycle engineering that directly influence mission outcomes.
  • Lead technical and programmatic discussions with government and contractor teams, identifying issues early, driving resolution, and guiding engineering decisions that enable enterprise-level capabilities.
  • Apply systems analysis and design methodologies to assess technical debt, architectural runway, and efficiency trade-offs for cloud-based and modernized software architectures.
  • Shape future system planning by developing requirements, evaluating design approaches, and providing oversight of development contractors to ensure alignment with mission needs.
  • Develop high-quality briefings, technical roadmaps, and acquisition documentation that support Program and Project Manager decision-making and advance modernization strategies.
  • Advise government managers responsible for end-to-end ground enterprise capabilities, ensuring mission tools, data flows, and integration efforts operate cohesively across the enterprise.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree and 7+ years; PhD/JD and 4+ years. Relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Strong foundation in Agile software development, cloud computing architectures, and modern engineering workflows.
  • Demonstrated success working in fast-paced, collaborative environments with government, SETA, FFRDC, and contractor stakeholders.
  • Deep engineering knowledge of software architectures, ground systems, and intelligence collection tasking.
  • Experience integrating software systems, including scripting, API integration, service orchestration, and containerization technologies.
  • Ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines that enhance system reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency.
  • Experience with GEOINT and SIGINT mission management systems (e.g., M2C2, GIMS, PGMM).
  • Familiarity with Agile metrics, risk identification, performance tracking, and managing solution-level Kanban/backlogs across multiple teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for high-visibility technical discussions, briefings, and coordination across diverse mission partners.
