RF Test Technician

Job Description

Description:Work with a production team to perform RF and electronic testing, troubleshooting, and assembly on a wide range of complex electronic systems in a cleanroom environment at a workbench or workstation, including maintaining accurate documentation of test data and setup/maintenance of RF test setups.
Support RF performance testing through environmental testing like TVAC, thermal, vibe, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Proficient with:
DC power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power meters, network and spectrum analyzers (including multi function PNA/PNA X platforms), data acquisition units and ESD controlled clean room workstations with microscope and precision hand tools.

Demonstrated experience:
Proficient and experienced with bench level CCA testing, including RF testing and troubleshooting of microwave/electronic subsystems, and with a proven ability to set up, operate, and interpret results from the core suite of RF test equipment.

This experience should cover the basic measurement chain—from DC and power checks using DC power supplies, digital multimeters, and precision oscilloscopes, through RF measurements via network and signal analyzers, such as power, S parameters (including basic return loss/VSWR), gain, frequency accuracy verification, and spurious/harmonic assessments.

In all cases the technician must be capable of configuring, performing routine calibrations, and maintaining the associated instruments while adhering to cleanroom and ESD protocols and delivering accurate, traceable documentation of test results.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with these advanced concepts and test techniques is beneficial for a Level 2 Test Technician, though proficiency is not required:

Advanced RF performance metrics such as gain flatness/slope, gain compression, noise figure, phase noise, phase linearity, and AM/PM conversion
Microwave theory and key RF building blocks (e.g., low noise amplifiers, phase lock loops, numerically/digitally controlled oscillators)
EMI/EMC testing and interpretation of compliance results
Exposure to environmental test platforms such as Vibration, Thermal Cycling, and Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) chambers
Basic experience with automated test scripting or data acquisition tools (e.g., Python, LabVIEW)
