Description:Precision Fires Mechanical Engineering & Product Design support of Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) production and/or associated development programs. The position may require oversight of a small engineering team which will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Procurement to resolve hardware issues in a fast-paced production environment. Tasks include 3D model design, drawing release, supplier support, shop liaison, and a transition to Material Review Board work. A related Bachelor of Science degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience are required. Candidates are preferred to be proficient with 3D CAD design (CREO preferred) and MS Office software tools. Experience in production support, and manufacturing liaison are preferred but not required. Some air travel to suppliers may be required. This position will support the PrSM program.
What you will be doing:
The Mechanical Engineer will interface with both internal and external Customers providing data and production solutions. There will be Mechanical Design Engineering support to create/update CAD models and assemble these models as required to support Production and/or development efforts. There will be coordination meetings with suppliers where the Mechanical Engineer will be called on to speak for the team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Be cognizant of your Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) scheduled tasks and Lead-directed tasks, ensuring timely completion and reporting.
- Creating and maintaining CAD models in PTC Creo.
- Consult with cross functional team to develop dimension and tolerance schemes leveraging concurrent design practices to arrive at producible solutions.
- Conduct tolerance analysis to ensure interfaces are achievable across the tolerance ranges.
- Track the design and packaging progress of any developmental projects in digital design notebooks.
- Coordinate lessons learned and information between the PrSM missile increments as it relates to this task.
- Travel to suppliers if required to see production lines, resolve issues and coordinate design efforts.
- Coordinate with Lockheed Martin Production Operations for any parts designated as ‘make’ items.
- Track and report status to the team by maintaining a weekly status document.
- Evaluate parts produced the are discrepant but potentially useful to the program, developing rework and repair plans as necessary.
- Lead teams as necessary, driving decisions and working actions to resolution.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

Proficient in PTC CREO and Windchill

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

Experience with Microsoft Office

Candidate must possess a DoD Secret level clearance.
Desired Skills:
Willingness to occasionally travel.

Leadership experience, leading tasking and decision making over small or large teams.

Experience with hardware build, integration and testing

Prior experience working missile programs.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
