Description SAIC has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join an elite team providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in
Las Cruces, NM. The selected candidate will work multiple mission system projects and tasks-from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition, etc.) to support vital operational missions. Responsibilities:
Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across customer-site and work collaboratively with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise.
- Work with SE&I teams to execute site system engineering process; oversee site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs.
- Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government Agencies to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture.
- Ensure the delivering organization understands site integration needs and processes.
- Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations & maintenance plans.
- Review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.).
- Represent government interests at various forums.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.
- Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress.
- Occasional CONUS travel.
Qualifications Required:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Active TS/SCI with current CI polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)* and Nine (9) years or more experience; or master's in STEM field and seven (7) years or more experience.
- Expertise in full system engineering life cycle from concept, requirements, design & development, to deployment and operational maintenance.
- Experience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and/or mission applications.
- Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization's needs throughout system development lifecycle.
- Must be a self-starter able to proactively address customer requirements without supervision and to readily define solutions for broad, abstract topics.
- Must be a polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment
- Must be able to demonstrate comfort briefing or communicating with senior government managers.
- Strength in collaborating and coordinating with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.
Desired:
- Real-time operations experience as a GEOINT spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator familiar with space operations and policies, ground operations, and system requirements/governance policies.
- Experience supporting Enterprise test activities, including representing stakeholder interests, ensuring operational requirements are integrated into test planning and execution, and identifying and deconflicting resource constraints.
- Familiar with application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, cloud technologies.
