Description SAIC is seeking a
Cable & Harness Technician to support the US Navy in
Indianapolis, IN.JOB DUTIES:- Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of Cables and Harness.
- Diagnose and repair damaged or malfunctioning wiring harnesses, using a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Identify and rectify any defects or issues in the harnesses, such as miswiring, poor connections, or insulation damage.
- Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and may be able to suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations in these areas.
- Performs tasks with a high degree of care / Quality and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Assembles cables & harness assemblies, and adapters by working from samples, Technical Data packages, visual aids, wiring lists and Work Instructions.
- Maintains accurate material control within the work area.
- Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate.
- Follows and maintains accurate process documentation.
- May use a variety of tools to perform tasks.
Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:- HS and five (5) or AA degree and three (3) years' experience.
- Assembly/production experience and a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in related field.
- Motivated and detail oriented.
- Excellent hand dexterity.
- May occasionally perform duties in a standing, kneeling or squatting position.
- Good eyesight and ability to distinguish color is necessary.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
