Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Coordinates material movement between warehouse/storeroom and production areas. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, contracts administration, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
Join the Kanata Operations Team! We are looking for a talented and motivated Manufacturing Project Manager (MPM) to join our growing team. In the MPM role, you will have the opportunity to work for various exciting programs across our Canadian Combat Management System 330 (CMS 330) product line, while collaborating with a talented group of individuals.
The MPM responsibilities include managing schedules, proposal and cost accounts, manpower planning, identifying and mitigating risks, upholding configuration control, and reporting within Production Operations. You will represent Operations as a primary and lead interface to the line of business program management, engineering, sourcing, quality, finance and other functions as required. Develop manufacturing program plans and schedules to ensure successful program completion with correct staffing levels.
Drive in problem resolution by understanding program goals, trade-offs and schedules. Conduct reviews during the manufacturing cycle to identify issues, develop work around plans to mitigate risk and to implement process improvements. Coordinate shipping information with Program Manager and communicate to packaging/shipping organization. Coordinate make/buy policy and support implementation plans. Participate in proposal preparation for new business and for scope changes on existing programs.
