Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team as an In-Country F-16 Avionics Field Service Engineer (FSE). This position is located in Sabena, Belgium and is an accompanied assignment - employee +1. This position will provide on-site advice, liaison, and informal training in the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and systems related to F-16 on and off the aircraft. The objective of the FSE is to elevate the technical skill and abilities of the personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of F-16 aircraft and associated equipment/systems to a level of self-sufficiency.
What You Will Be Doing:
Provide on-site/on-equipment informal unit training to the component level on installation, maintenance and operating techniques pertaining to the adjustment, calibration, trouble-shooting, bench check, routine maintenance, inspection and repair of the prime equipment/system. Provide advice in the identification of and instruction on the use of special tools, handling equipment, aerospace ground equipment (AGE) and test equipment associated with and related to F-16 aircraft and avionics systems. Render technical advice to resolve difficult and unusual maintenance problems. Provide consistent analysis of maintenance difficulties. Provide advice on the establishment of maintenance, inspection and training programs designed to improve the quality of maintenance, recommending changes as applicable. Provide liaison through which information related to maintenance and operational problems, available in the manufacturer's plant, can be quickly disseminated to operations and maintenance personnel.
Provide training on the use and interpretation of applicable technical orders.
Provide advice as requested to assist in accident investigation and preparing failure data reports and unsatisfactory reports.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate customer requirements as needed.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must be a US citizen.
Must have an at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance.
Must be able to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance. Selected candidate must pass an overseas physical.
Basic Qualifications
The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years avionics systems/subsystems experience or will accept 8 years avionics systems/ subsystems experience without a degree
- Aircraft avionics experience must include at least 3 years with F-16 Systems and Subsystems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

- Good Communication Skills, Oral and Written, Good Organization Skills
- Posses skill set to train others to include Foreign Military.
- Familiar with F-16 Avionics Modifications and Improvements, General Aircraft Mechanical (APG) System and Weapons System
- Familiar with all Blocks F-16
- Familiar with Common Configuration Implementation
- Program (CCIP) modified F-16 aircraft
- Previous Falcon 20/20 Customer Service Experience
- Experience working with Foreign Government representatives.
- Experience training others to include Foreign Military.
- Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Experience with Export Controlled Data
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
