What You Will Be Doing
This position will be the Structures Lead for the F35 Wing Systems Manufacturing Engineering Team.
This manufacturing engineering lead position will directly support the Wing System production build teams and will require direct coordination with Production, Engineering, Quality, IE, OE and Planning. The candidate should be a subject matter expert in manufacturing engineering and will be responsible for projects for production support, SRR reduction, HPU reduction initiatives, tooling improvements, engineering change management, and mentoring early career team members. Candidate must be able to manage complex technical issues and drive to resolution.
All Wing manufacturing engineers are responsible for:
• Maintaining/ improving our Standard Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Plans.
• Driving our corrective action business rhythms.
• Coordinating with other support teams for improvements and affordability initiatives.
• Collaboration with other build teams, including Marietta Wing, Wing Ops, EMAS, and Final Assembly.
• Ensuring proactive communication on our major issues across support teams and other F-35 build areas.

Performs the Make, Buy and / or Bill of Material (BOM) planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions. Performs one or more multiple manufacturing activities within various manufacturing functions. Maintains production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization to minimize cost. Expedites and optimizes material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements. Coordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on make parts, analyzes and controls production schedule and capacity requirements, executes the plan, provides timely status and expedites or works around plans to preserve schedule. Coordinates with Supply Chain Stakeholders including Procurement and Operations Management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts and executes processes to ensure deliverables meet production schedule requirements. Maintains MRP parameters including lead times and lot sizes and coordinates with Engineering and Change Board Rep to make the associated changes to the BOM.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, with a good understanding of production processes, equipment, and shop‑floor operations.
• Experience with tooling and tool design concepts.
• Experience with corrective action and production support.
• Experience with process/product optimization and efficiency.
• Applied CATIA V5 experience or similar software.
• BS/MS in Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure.
• Knowledge of F-35 production line practices and requirements.
• F-35 Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications, and manufacturing planning.
• Experience working in QADS, SFM, SAP, CAPP, PDM, and ICA.
• Experience supporting production on non-standard repair work.
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
• Excellent Organizational skills and Project Management.
• Experience using various metrology applications.
• Good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $59900.00 - $111300.00
