Los Angeles County Probation (LACP) is hiring dedicated individuals to serve as sworn Peace Officers who play a critical role in transforming lives and strengthening communities.

As a Deputy Probation Officer I, you’ll:

  • Support and guide youth in juvenile halls and residential treatment facilities.
  • Build trust and inspire change through consistent casework and mentorship.
  • Identify life skills needs and help youth reach their full potential.
  • Apply evidence-based practices to support rehabilitation and growth of youth.
  • Help maintain safety, order, and dignity through professional conduct and, when necessary, physical intervention.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • At least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • No felony convictions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.
  • Possess a valid California Class C Driver License at the time of appointment.
