About the Role:
Lockheed Martin is seeking a proactive Associate Manager to lead a high performing team within our Computer Vision group. This group spans optics, camera modeling, simulation & testing, algorithm development, software engineering, and CI/CD. While deep technical expertise in every area is not required, the ideal candidate will understand the breadth of the discipline and leverage that context to enable the team’s success.
In this position you will be a manager for a group of engineers, responsible for :
• Conducting regular 1:1s (at least every other week), delivering continuous feedback, and providing career guidance and coaching
• Delegating work effectively, ensuring tasks are matched to skill sets and development goals.
• Driving agile framework execution (scrum/kanban), managing the backlog, and facilitating sprint ceremonies
• Reporting Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics against agile commitments managing schedule and budget
• Communicating progress and technical status to internal and external stakeholders through clear presentations and written reports
• Partnering with product managers, architects, and cross functional leads to align technical priorities with mission requirements
• Championing continuous improvement of team processes, fostering a collaborative culture, and supporting the adoption of CI/CD best practices across the group.
• Deriving, authoring, and maintaining clear, testable software and system requirements originating from top level requirements and mission needs
Generally has 5+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.

Leads those who serve as the hardware experts for autonomous systems and works with the Systems Engineer to provide the next generation of hardware solutions, including and not limited to sensing, compute, storage as well as controls and systems safety.They support the team with integrating hardware with software and systems, human-machine interface tests, and preparations for autonomous systems for certification and deployment.Leads those who research, identify and recommend appropriate hardware and components for autonomy systems to enable controls, perception, and motion planning; Consults with software engineers for hardware and software integration; Serves as expert for sensors and autonomy compute systems; Provides expertise on controls systems; Addresses problems related to sensors and perception hardware; Contributes to embedded system designs for sensors and autonomy compute components; Ensures hardware and components meets systems architecture and program requirements; Applies appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support hardware systems; Qualifies and tests developed hardware and test plans, procedures, systems
Skill Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Demonstrated ability to derive, write, and maintain clear, testable requirements
• Experience with software development workflows (Kanban, Agile, etc.) and reporting status of schedule and budget against the software development cycle
• Comfortable presenting findings and visualizations to cross functional teammates in meetings or written reports
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix, Python, and version control systems
Security Clearance / Work Authorization:
• To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
• Although not required to start, the selected applicant must be eligible to obtain, and maintain, Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (i.e. TS/SCI) for long term employment on this program
• 5 + years of experience leading technical teams (software, algorithm, or hardware) in a fast paced, mission critical environment.
• CI/CD pipelines - familiarity with GitLab CI or similar tools for automated testing and deployment
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or applying computer vision algorithms and/or artificial intelligence / machine learning techniques
• Prior work on real time or embedded systems
• Docker, CI/CD pipelines, MATLAB/Simulink, C++
• Experience testing and working with camera hardware (lenses, focal planes, optical test equipment)
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00
