SENIOR ENGINEER

QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting an Engineer to join our team, to support our customer, Project Manager Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PM PNT).This is a remote position.

Duties:

• Supports design, development and integration of complex electrical/electronic engineering projects.
• Performs system integration activities, including the installation and integration of electrical/electronic systems and subsystems into host platforms and customer environments.
• Supports engineering efforts across the system lifecycle, from design and development through integration, testing, deployment, and field support
• Analyzes and troubleshoots complex system-level issues; identifies root causes and supports the development and implementation of corrective actions.
• Install, configure, and validate electrical and timing‑sensitive equipment supporting GCS operations. This includes survey‑grade reference timing receivers, signal processing modules, cable routing assemblies, and networked sensors.
• Conduct detailed calibration of timing devices, including verifying oscillator health, drift measurements, and synchronization accuracy against reference signals.
• Perform diagnostic evaluation of power systems, grounding paths, RF cabling, lightning protection interfaces, and environmental control subsystems at GMS sites.
• Maintain engineering‑grade documentation of wiring diagrams, signal paths, calibration data, component serials, and electrical test results.
• Provide technical support for Site Installs and Annual Maintenance at global locations.
• Execute emergency maintenance on mission‑critical electrical and timing components, analyzing faults using cable analyzers, oscilloscopes, test load tools, and GPS‑timing verification equipment.
• Conduct tabletop exercises to test and refine operational procedures, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assist with conducting site visits and performing routine maintenance, calibration, and installation of equipment as required.
• Attend planning and status meetings as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Required Clearance:

• ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret

Qualifications:

• MA/MS from an accredited college or university required. Engineering degree in electronics or electrical engineering preferred.
• At least ten (10) years of experience in the design, development and integration of electrical/electronic systems required.
• BS degree and sixteen (16) years of experience can be substituted for MA/MS degree requirement.

Travel:

No less than 50% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment:

This position will be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, government offices, military bases and depots, warehouse/maintenance shops, and/or field environments that include extended periods outdoors.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands of this position include ability to:

• Be independently mobile.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
• Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.
• Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as glasses/goggles (eyes), ear plugs/muffs (hearing), hard hats, and breathing respirators/masks.
• Operate powered vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.
• Lift/push/pull objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
• Withstand exposure to noise from operating equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.

Estimated Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00, annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. This represents the typical range for fully qualified candidates for this position based on experience, geographic location, and other factors. The final offer amount may vary.
