Job Description

Overview

LMI is a mission-driven digital solutions provider accelerating government impact through innovation, speed, and commercial-grade technology. We develop and deploy advanced RFID, sensor-mesh, and integrated hardware/software solutions that support mission-critical operations across the federal government, with a particular focus on the Department of War.

Our SPECTR portfolio is seeking a SPECTR Growth Lead to support customer acquisition, opportunity development, capture, proposal execution, and market expansion for an evolving family of integrated hardware and software solutions.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, technically curious seller and builder who can engage government customers, understand mission problems, translate technical capabilities into compelling value propositions, and help advance opportunities toward funded outcomes. This role is well suited for an individual with experience in federal business development, technical sales, solution consulting, proposal development, mission support, or a related customer-facing role who is ready to take on increasing responsibility for growth.

The SPECTR Growth Lead will work closely with portfolio leadership, Product & Customer Success, Engineering, Hardware, Mission Managers, Portfolio Operations, Go-to-Market, and other LMI growth resources. The role will support continued expansion within established Army and Navy markets while helping develop opportunities with the Air Force, Space Force, Defense Logistics Agency, combatant commands, and other federal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify growth opportunities: Proactively engage prospective customers, program offices, acquisition organizations, partners, and other stakeholders to identify mission needs aligned with SPECTR capabilities.
  • Conduct customer discovery: Understand customer workflows, mission problems, technical environments, operational constraints, funding considerations, acquisition approaches, and decision criteria.
  • Support consultative technology sales: Translate complex hardware and software capabilities into clear mission and business value for operational, technical, acquisition, and executive audiences.
  • Develop target accounts and markets: Research priority organizations, stakeholders, use cases, competitors, acquisition pathways, and potential partners to support SPECTR market expansion.
  • Support government buying strategies: Identify potential contract vehicles, acquisition pathways, funding sources, partners, and contracting approaches for qualified opportunities.
  • Shape opportunities: Work with customers and internal teams to refine requirements, implementation concepts, pilots, and acquisition approaches that align customer needs with scalable SPECTR capabilities.
  • Support and lead capture activities: Develop stakeholder maps, competitive assessments, win themes, pursuit plans, teaming inputs, and capture materials. Lead defined pursuits as experience and opportunity complexity warrant.
  • Drive proposal execution: Coordinate proposal schedules, compliance matrices, content development, reviews, and cross-functional inputs for RFIs, Sources Sought notices, white papers, CSOs, SBIR/BAA responses, proposals, and other customer submissions.
  • Support sales-oriented demonstrations: Partner with Mission Managers, Product, Customer Success, Engineering, and Hardware to ensure demonstrations are tailored to customer problems and sales objectives.
  • Support customer expansion: Identify follow-on opportunities, adjacent use cases, additional organizations, and broader deployment opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Maintain pipeline discipline: Keep assigned opportunities current, document next actions and qualification evidence, support pipeline reviews and forecasting, and provide clear visibility into opportunity progress and risk.
  • Represent SPECTR externally: Participate in customer meetings, demonstrations, conferences, industry events, and partner engagements, with regular travel to customer locations.
  • Assume increasing ownership: Progress toward independent responsibility for assigned accounts, market-development campaigns, captures, proposals, and opportunity forecasts based on demonstrated performance.
