Description SAIC is actively seeking a Laser Optical Engineer to join our dynamic team of physicists, biologists, optometrists, engineers, and technicians dedicated to conducting fundamental and applied research in the realm of laser bio-effects and safety within military environments. This full-time position is in support of the Optical Radiation Safety and Bioeffects research program based at the Air Force Research Laboratory in San Antonio, Texas. RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate, repair, and maintain a variety of laser systems ranging from ultrafast to multi-kilowatt CW lasers, ultraviolet through far-infrared wavelengths. Design and construct optical systems to deliver laser energy to specified targets that satisfy costumer defined specifications. Develop electronic and optoelectronic control systems for precise delivery of laser energy. Perform laser beam characterization and dosimetry. Description SAIC is looking for a Field Service Technician to support the AC-130 gunship located at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico . NOTE: Position is located full time at Cannon AFB. JOB RESPONSIBLITES: Interfaces with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems to include performing customer support activities involving the installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order. Isolates equipment start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action. May make technical presentations and has a strong knowledge of products. Trains customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities. Provides technical support for the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems in the areas of field service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and training support to the Air Force squadron at Cannon AFB.
